Easy edit website boosts local and national campaigns

A news-focused, up to date website is essential to Andrew Bridgen as he rallies support prior to the next General Election. As North West Leicestershire Conservative Association’s Prospective Parliamentary Candidate the site gives him a sturdy platform from which he can share his political views and canvass public opinion.

When Andrew Bridgen asked Quiet Storm to build a website to support his campaign he had a clear vision of how it should look. A structure and design had been mapped out and this was taken along to the first meeting with the On-Line team.

It was clear that the ability to swiftly edit content and upload photographs was crucial. Quiet Storm’s Easy Edit software was therefore particularly welcomed by Mr Bridgen’s researcher, Andrew Woodman, who would be the site’s administrator. It makes adding and changing site content quick, simple and immediate. This feature is particularly important on a website that has to reflect Andrew Bridgen’s political position and his response to local and national news on a day to day basis. His views would be represented in the news sections and also in his blog. An interactive element was also required as, in addition to the ‘contact’ link to Andrew’s email address and a box to request his e-zine, visitors would be given the chance to comment on his blog entries.

The completed website incorporates all of these needs and has links to the Conservative Party’s national site. It serves as an introduction to Andrew Bridgen and an ongoing record of campaigns he is both leading and supporting.

Andrew Woodman explained: “At our first meeting with Quiet Storm we discussed the requirements of the site and how we wanted it to look. Working from my sample layouts we were able to identify the amount of text and number of images we would need to provide. I was impressed with how the team interpreted the brief and built the website exactly as I had imagined and hoped. We had a second meeting to go through the procedure for operating the site before it went live. Since then I have found the editing software to be straightforward and the service from the team has always been excellent.”

Andrew Bridgen added: There is no doubt that the website has been instrumental in increasing my local profile and publicising our local and national campaigns. It will also be an invaluable tool come the General Election.”
