Quiet Storm achieve Investors in People Award in record time due to intranet

Designed and programmed in-house, the easy-to-use system holds a wealth of information.

Every job, who has worked on it, what they have done and how long it has taken is recorded so that clients can be informed of progress at any time.

The system also provides client contact information and details about the company turnover, the bonus scheme and minutes of directors' meetings.

Direct links from the homepage to the BBC site gives a window on the world beyond the studio and the notice board means employees can paste comments and fun items.

"The CRM is the hub of our information system and we believe it was key to our being awarded the Investors in People standard," company director Phil Megson said.

Quiet Storm's CRM has been developed as a product and several clients use it to manage their business intelligence.

Phil Megson says that other company practices also played an important part in gaining the IIP standard. The company has always carried out staff appraisals and acted on their outcomes, setting objectives and continually reviewing progress towards them.

"Investors in People provided us with the system and Business Link Leicester with the support to review our practices and ensure that they will continue to help us achieve our business goals," Phil said.

"We are delighted to have gained the award on our first application. It is beneficial to our staff and, of course, to our clients that we work to help employees achieve their full potential."

Quiet Storm intends undertaking regular reviews to ensure it maintains its Investor in People status.
