Awards ceremonies are an excellent way to motivate and thank a team. By opening proceedings with a powerful video presentation you will grab the attention of your audience from the start.
The University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust was determined to reward its dedicated and talented staff with a presentation night to remember. It is one of the UK’s largest teaching trusts and is responsible for managing the University Hospital in Coventry and the Hospital of St Cross in Rugby. The hospitals offer innovative and leading-edge clinical services to a population of over a million people.
The Trust commissioned Quiet Storm to produce a show-reel that would introduce the staff awards and generate excitement and pride amongst the guests. The brief was specific. Shots of key local landmarks, as well the two hospital buildings, had been selected for filming and particular members of the workforce identified.
Filming the staff at work had to be carried out with sensitivity and with regard to patient confidentiality and the final cut needed to convey the expertise and excellence of the Trust’s workforce and their commitment to the well-being of the community they serve.
Quiet Storm’s On-Show team was given a tight deadline in which to film and edit the piece. By working closely with both the management team at the Trust and with individual hospital staff they successfully fulfilled the brief and delivered a dynamic four minute show-opener.
Peter Boxell, Communications Director for the Trust said: “I had a clear vision of what we needed to achieve in a very tight timescale. We required a fast moving service that would capture our requirements within 24 hours and be edited within a further 24 hours. Quiet Storm met the challenge admirably. The team produced an uplifting multi-media piece that was a true snapshot of the Trust and the work carried out by our dedicated staff. It set exactly the right tone for the awards presentation and made a huge contribution to the success of the event. A strong emotional bond was created amongst the guests with everyone feeling a strong sense of pride for what we had collectively achieved.
“Everyone in the audience was moved and a senior staff member said she felt that for the first time the essence of the NHS had been captured on film.”
