Energy saving is a hot topic currently and the drive to cut fuel bills and reduce carbon emissions is stronger than ever. TAC was looking for a simple yet effective way to remind its UK employees of the steps they can take to make a difference. The company established a ‘Green Team’ and asked Quiet Storm to design and produce display boards that would publicise its campaign in all its regional offices.
TAC is the fastest growing company in the building automation industry. It established the concept of ‘Open Integrated Systems for Building IT™’ which provides the technologies and services that enable efficient management of buildings. Customers can integrate heating and cooling, access control, security monitoring, ventilation, fire and smoke control and lighting across enterprises. TAC systems can now be found in over 150,000 installations on every continent in a wide range of industries, in buildings of all types and sizes. To totally maximise efficiencies everyone should be diligent in turning off lights and equipment when not in use and be aware of the need to conserve energy – practices actively encouraged in TAC’s own premises.
Lynn Wolfe, TAC’s Marketing Assistant said: “We formed our Green Team with the main aim being to implement initiatives and procedures which will change the environment of our workplace. We commissioned the graphics boards from Quiet Storm to encourage staff to think of ways we can reduce energy and waste. We have 14 regional offices and now have a display located in all of them.”
Each of the 1.5 metre high by 1 metre wide boards stands in a simple base that was specifically sourced by Quiet Storm to meet the TAC brief. The striking display depicts a globe, gently held within two hands and features eight energy facts relevant to office premises plus a message urging staff to embrace green practices.
