A company flying high through the recession – could its new website be a factor?

R5 develops and manufactures new medicines and clinical trial materials at its headquarters and laboratories in Nottingham. Founded in 2006, R5 has established a reputation throughout Europe as one of the leading providers of pharmaceutical dosage form development and is now attracting global interest.

In 2008 the company asked Quiet Storm to design and build a new website that would reflect its expertise and success as well as convey the range of services it can offer the biotech and pharmaceutical industry worldwide CEO Paul Titley explained: “Our first website was built when we were a new company. It was written on the basis of what we were aspiring to offer rather than what we were doing. It was very basic, with no visuals. We needed to replace this with an up-to-date, professional web site that positioned R5 at the forefront of our marketplace.

“From the start Quiet Storm understood exactly what our company does and what we need to achieve with our website. We were able to choose a design package that represented good value for money that would give us the ability to easily edit and update pages as we wanted. The team was great to work with and gave clear direction on what we needed to provide in terms of copy and images. They also offered advice on optimising the site to make it attractive to web search engines and they suggested that we include a news section as an effective way of regularly adding fresh text.

“Our new site went live in December 2008 and I’m pleased to say that it ticks all the boxes for us – it clearly shows the breadth of our service and fully describes our capabilities. Web visitors can immediately see that we are a busy, well-established and respected company within our industry. I am delighted with the website and in fact I use a ‘screen shot’ of the Home page as the final slide in my corporate presentations.

“We are now finding that when customers call us they are doing so because they already feel reassured that we can provide the service they are looking for. We are getting enquiries from all over the world and R5 Pharmaceuticals is flying high, despite the recession. The new website could well be a factor.”
