How to use the latest website features to drive sales

Ian Michie, Matsuura’s Marketing Executive explains: “We wanted to move away from a solution based website to a product based one that would be quick and simple to update. We also wanted additional features that would strengthen our marketing campaigns.

“Matsuura has a long-standing relationship with Quiet Storm and we were confident they would deliver. They understand our business model, our products and our market. As expected the team interpreted our concept exactly as we envisaged and created a site we are delighted with. It has been live for a few months now and we have seen a marked upturn in the number of requests for pdf’s of our product data sheets.

“The Easy Edit 7 toolbar is very intuitive and a pleasure to use. You don’t find yourself fighting with the software - It’s a dream. We can also create new landing pages within the site. This feature enables us to measure the results of individual campaigns. One of the first uses has been for our golf days. Guests respond to the invitation by registering on the dedicated landing page we have set up for that event. It’s a great feature.”


The new site design is crisp and clean, using strong engineering related images in the home page flash ticker. To increase the appeal to the target market even further a video clip, showing a CNC machine tool at work, begins playing when the visitor lands on the home page.

The menu structure is clear and takes visitors swiftly to photos and descriptions of the products of interest to them with an option to click for more detailed data. To obtain pdf’s of the data sheets visitors simply click on the product icon which generates an automated email request and delivery process. The contact information gathered from these requests is then added to Matsuura’s database for future marketing campaigns.

News items, with photographs, can be easily added to the site which helps keep the content fresh and of interest to search engines. An enquiry form and a location map have been included on the contact page and a search option provides visitors with another way of navigating the site.

The Easy Edit 7 toolbar provides many of the familiar editing features used in MS Word and is as simple to use. Updating a page, adding a news item, creating links to other sections of the site, other websites, and emails is quick and easy. Uploading images to the site is straightforward and any number of landing pages can be created. A link to landing pages can be included in marketing materials to drive people to that specific page. Visitor numbers to that page are recorded, giving an accurate measure of interest in that particular campaign. Creating a new landing page is also an easy way of creating additional pages within the website.
