How to give a new business a flying start

General Manager Neil McPherson explains: "There are many benefits to using a one-stop-shop and Quiet Storm were able to provide everything we required to get the products out to market. We started by choosing a logo from the six designs they created for us and then and ordered our business stationery. These days, with so much email communication, printed letterheads are not used so much but are still required. Quiet Storm offer a ‘start-up pack’ which includes basic quantities of headed paper, business cards and compliment slips. This was a cost-effective way of getting what we needed.

"For our website we chose one of the Storming Xtra designs which includes two hard lead generating tools and an enquiry form. Demonstration videos for our Alertpal™ camera system and our GSM power socket were scripted and produced by Quiet Storm and have been uploaded to the website. The team was great to work with and since going live with the website our hit rate has been steadily increasing."

Tekview’s product range utilises GSM mobile phone technology operated by Pay As You Go (PAYG) SIMs. The Alert Pal™ system is an innovative security device that sends an SMS message and MMS images to a designated mobile phone if an intruder or a fire is detected at a premises. As well as home and business applications, the system offers peace of mind to caravan and boat owners as it can work with a 12 v power supply. Also included in the range are motion activated mini video recorders and Tekview’s eco-friendly GSM remote controlled power socket. This allows users to turn appliances and systems on or off from any location or timings can be pre-set. Users also receive instant notification to their phone if power is interrupted.

Explaining how the devices work and how their use can be applied is clearly explained on the website. Short videos demonstrating Alert Pal™ and the GSM Power Socket were commissioned by Tekview and uploaded via the site’s content management system. Quiet Storm provided script assistance and created a shot list. The products were filmed in the studio and on location, footage was edited and a professional voice-over and music was added.

Neil McPherson said: "Our website has to show how our products offer an effective solution to customers’ security needs. The videos play a key role in this. The ability to edit the site content ourselves is really important. Attending Quiet Storm’s free workshop got us started and now we are updating the pages and adding news stories with confidence."

The Storming range of web templates includes five basic designs which can be customised with the client’s own company branding. The menu framework is established and the client chooses menu headings according to their needs. The content pages are fully editable and there can be as many as required, with the capability to easily create landing pages with their own unique web address. Storming sites come with one year’s free hosting, one free domain name registration, unlimited email addresses and a non-geographical telephone number. With a Storming Extra package, as chosen by Tekview, an additional lead generator is included as well as a Mail-blast template with one year’s license. Site visitor numbers are all recorded and can be viewed on-line so charting the website’s effectiveness is simple.
