Doncaster Clinical Research is the joint research office for the area. It works in partnership with other NHS Trusts, academia and industry to give patients access to a greater range and choice of treatment options.
Amy Beckitt is the Clinical Research Development Manager who worked closely with Quiet Storm to develop the new website. She said: “We wanted to showcase the three trusts that form part of Doncaster Clinical Research and the website does exactly that. By presenting a cohesive front we increase the possibility of attracting new research partners and this ultimately benefits patients. The site gives us the perfect platform to display our capability and capacity in all the areas of research and highlight projects that are underway.
“Reaction to the site has been extremely positive. It works brilliantly as a marketing tool to potential partners, is a great resource for interested members of staff and patients who want to know more about our research projects.”
The website brings together information on clinical research across a range of specialities and services delivered by Doncaster & Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Rotherham, Doncaster & South Humber NHS Foundation Trust and NHS Doncaster. The aim is to improve healthcare outcomes and contribute to evidence-based knowledge within the NHS.
The ‘Storming Basic’ website design is a ready-to-go solution and was chosen as an economical and cost-effective option. Storming sites are available in a choice of design styles that accommodate a client’s own branding and it is possible to ‘bolt-on’ extra capabilities depending on the client’s needs. For this site two extra news modules were added. This allows Doncaster Clinical Research to show the tracking of applications and promote training events in an effective way.
All Quiet Storm websites can be fully optimised for search engines and the simple to use easy-edit toolbar makes adding content to the pages and updating a painless process. The site can be navigated quickly and there is an inbuilt on-line enquiry form as well as an ‘email me’ short-cut.
The Storming Basic option has provided the NHS with a low cost solution to increase the visibility of one of its vital services.
