Museum Trusts’ Showcase Exhibition For Gunther Plüschow’s Historic Escape

Moira Furnace Museum Trust  created a touring exhibition to mark the 100th anniversary of Gunther Plüschow’s escape from nearby Donington Hall. Gunther was the only German PoW in either World War to escape from Britain and get back home.

The Museum Trust’s Chairman Steve Scotney knew how he wanted to convey the dramatic story but asked for Quiet Storm’s help to make it happen. “When I met with Quiet Storm I had a detailed brief which included display stands, a movie and a brochure. I explained that the exhibition would travel to different size venues so flexibility was needed with the size of the display stands. We decided quite early on that we wanted a comic book style for the brochure and the film as the Museum Trust is keen to attract the interest of young people.

“I was amazed at how Quiet Storm transferred the comic into film,” added Steve. “People love watching it. Teenagers often associate museums with being boring but this is another way to get the story across. What Quiet Storm have achieved is something out of a graphic novel. I can honestly say I am very happy with the way the team have interpreted my brief and they were very good at keeping the project on track. When this project is done we are left with a great exhibition system. It’s money well spent.”
