Breedon Group’s video goes with the flow

Breedon is a leading construction materials group in Great Britain and Ireland. It operates two cement plants and around 80 quarries, 40 asphalt plants, 170 ready-mixed concrete plants, nine concrete and clay products plants, four contract surfacing businesses, six import/export terminals and two slate production facilities.


It has established a strong reputation for innovation within its industry and has continually developed market-leading products which help developers, housebuilders, architects and specifiers to save time and money and reduce their environmental impact.  

It approached Quiet Storm for help in promoting the benefits of its BREEDONFlow® self-compacting concrete to customers.

BREEDONFlow® is easy to finish and produces a level surface capable of receiving most materials, eliminating the need for vibrating equipment on-site.

The hardened concrete is dense, homogenous and has the same engineering properties and durability as normal vibrated concrete. It is easier to place and finish, leading to improved health and safety conditions and environmental awareness, faster construction times and reduced labour costs.


Making BREEDONFlow® the star of the screen

Breedon is a long-standing and trusted client of Quiet Storm, who we have worked with on many projects over the years. We approached this brief with a view to creating a visual piece of marketing which showcases just how easy it is to work with BREEDONFlow®, compared to traditional ready-mix concrete.

Our solution took the form of a five-minute time-lapse video, which showed, using a split screen, conventional concrete being poured and levelled, side-by-side with BREEDONFlow®. The film shows just two crew members laying a 10m squared base of BREEDONFlow®, compared to five laying a same-sized patch of conventional concrete.

As the film continues, it quickly becomes apparent just how quicker and easier it is to work with BREEDONFlow®.  After just eight minutes, the BREEDONFlow® base is fully installed, whereas 40 minutes later, the other crew is still hard at work.

The video was embedded onto Breedon Group’s website and used across its social media channels, as well as being used as a visual sales tool to show customers the benefits of switching to BREEDONFlow®.
