When the City Hospital NHS Trust in Birmingham contacted Quiet Storm Solutions to ask about the creation of a web site they did not get the answer they expected.
The Trust wanted the site to provide information to potential partners in its planned £23m Ambulatory Care Centre that is to be funded by a Private Finance Initiative (PFI).
The Centre, to be used for out-patient appointments, tests including X-rays and scans and operations for which an overnight stay is not needed, is one of the ways City Hospital intends to modernise its methods of service delivery.
A meeting with representatives from various hospital departments immediately demonstrated huge enthusiasm for the project which could never be captured in a web site.
So Quiet Storm suggested a PowerPoint presentation, incorporating video footage of staff from each department saying what the Centre would mean to them and to the way their services are provided.
The Trust has been delighted with the result – they have a lively way of explaining to everyone, not just potential partners, all about the proposed Centre and being in PowerPoint they can make the presentation bespoke to any audience without having to involve Quiet Storm.
They also have the presentation as a CD-ROM and, created directly from the presentation, a ten minute video. Quiet Storm’s solution has proved to be a real tonic for the City Hospital NHS Trust!
