The day and On Thursday 3rd April, we held a client open day and hosted a KuKu Connect reception to celebrate Quiet Storm becoming 100% employee owned, with the unveiling of a new leadership team, the new branding – and several long service awards.
Virtually everyone in the business is now a Quiet Storm share holder.
Quiet Storm founder Steve Megson will continue to oversee the planning, strategy and growth of the business as CEO. He’ll hand over its day-to-day running to new managing director Lewis Combey, who joined Quiet Storm as an apprentice, aged 17, in 2015. Amy Heath, who joined as project manager in 2018, takes on the role of company secretary.
“I’m delighted to be taking on this new challenge and steering Quiet Storm through the next exciting phase of our journey. We’ve built an exceptional team of talented individuals who share our commitment to innovation and excellence.”

Kathy will remain as finance director, Philip continues to be a director – but has stepped back his hours to part-time and largely working remotely from the beautiful isle of Anglesey. The roles of the original three directors is now to support and mentor Lewis and Amy as they take the business on this new stage of Quiet Storms’ journey.
Clients travelled to celebrate this momentous occasion with us
The day and evening saw clients attend from across the UK, it was very humbling to everyone at Quiet Storm to have so many people want to join us in this milestone moment. To demonstrate our AI capabilities there were presentations and clients could even get their AI portrait generated.
Fancy entertainments, a corporate hospitality company, supplied something a little different for the evening session, which was a KuKu hosted reception at Quiet Storm. This enabled visitors from across the region to visit the Quiet Storm offices, see what we do and take part in our celebrations.
Re-brand of Quiet Storm marks the new approach
Lewis and the team have rebranded Quiet Storm and launched our new website to reflect this change. You can read about our amazing story and the key milestones since our beginnings back in 1987 (7 years before the internet became available) – it highlights all the key events in our incredible journey to this point. The team have all had their AI portraits done for the new website, which now clearly illustrates the direction we’re heading under the new managing director.
Long Service awards were presented for milestones measured in decades
One of the strengths of Quiet Storm is its ability to adapt to the changes in technology, and this is very much down to the people within the business. We are recognised for industry leading retention of both employees and clients. Clients’ want stability in a supplier, but they also need a partner to keep pushing them forward. We’re very proud of our people and value the relationships with our clients.
Long service awards went to Philip Megson and Chris Forster (30 years), Sam Web (20 years) and Lewis Combey (10 years).
Who knew what changes we’d live through when it all began in 1987
When Steve and Kathy set the business up in 1987, having a fax and ISDN line was high tech, and a mobile phone came attached to a car battery! The internet was 7 years in the future and what a difference to the world it has made.
“The mind boggles to imagine where Quiet Storm will be in another 38 years – with AI, who knows how fast technology will change.
However, I am confident that we have the team and leadership to help our clients navigate the challenges and take up the opportunities.
Our strengths have always been in digital innovation. Our industry-leading team have a vast amount of knowledge and expertise in doing clever things with technology to solve our clients’ problems and help them achieve their business objectives. Our high client retention levels – many customers have been with us for years – is testament to the quality and standard of work we deliver.
The transition to 100% employee ownership was five years in the making. It creates a genuine stake for our team in the company’s future success, which will directly benefit our clients through enhanced creativity, customer service and dedication.
We’ve always been big investors in people. Our vision was to build a business that could run without me and my co-directors – my wife, Kathy and my brother, Phil. We’ve spent years bringing in the right people and developing their talents, and we’re now in a position to hand over the reins to a new generation to inject some fresh energy, thinking and innovation.
Our clients will still receive the same high levels of service, care and support they have come to expect from Quiet Storm as we continue to adapt to emerging technologies, and deliver clever solutions that solve real-world business, sales and marketing problems.”
