Key Objective: Create a resource planner which gives the business the ability to match staff – and workers – to jobs, both now and in the future, enabling it to map out its resource requirements over the short- to medium-terms.
“Buckingham Group Contracting is a major construction company with a turnover exceeding £500m. As a total construction solutions provider, we work on a wide range of construction projects across the UK at any given time.
“Allocating the correct resource to each one can be extremely challenging. The dashboard that Quiet Storm has created for us enables us to take a holistic view of all the projects we are working on and allocate available resources in the most optimal way, to maximise our capacity and ensure we have the right people, with the right skills, on every project we undertake. The application has made a difficult task extremely straightforward and has become a fundamental part of our resource planning.”

Issues: The application needed to be built around an excel database, but be accessed via a secure online portal. Each member of staff is recorded in a Data Protection Act 2018/GDPR-compliant database alongside individual information including their job title, skillset, location and availability. It needed to enable managers to allocate skills to projects, so the availability for a particular project, based on reliable, real-time data.
Resolution: We created a secure, bespoke application for the business, that effectively maps out and allocates the correct staff to each project, based on their skills, location and availability, to ensure it is optimising the capacity of its workforce at all times.
