Lincolnshire Business Awards Ceremony Has More Impact Second Time Around – And Remained On Budget

In addition, the means by which they are funded – often through sponsorship or a grant allocation – means that there is no room for manoeuvre here either.
Business 24 is a company within the same group as Business Link Lincolnshire & Rutland providing information, training, developing and networking for businesses in Lincolnshire and Rutland and beyond.
Business 24 creates opportunities that support business growth and even provides a forum from which to recognise and reward success through the Lincolnshire & Rutland Business Awards, which have been delivered on an annual basis since 1996.
Quiet Storm helped to facilitate the 2004 event and was delighted to be approached to help out again in 2005.
Members of the Events & Project Management Team Jacqui Spittlehouse and Alison Cook had a predetermined budget with which to work and of course wanted to gain the maximum impact they could within it. The location also presented a challenge, a marquee in the grounds of Lincoln Castle on an unfortunately windy and rainy evening in July.
Business 24 asked Quiet Storm to use the experience of the previous year to suggest enhancements that might be made to the elements they were providing – audio visual support, custom-designed electronic speaker support, on-site technicians during the event, design, build and break-down of the stage set and consultancy services in the run-up to the evening.
And Quiet Storm did make a number of changes to provide an even more impressive evening than before.
The speaker support material was re-designed, the lighting effects were made more dynamic, the stage set was changed and included corporate coloured lighting for the first time, and more popular music was chosen for links and introductions during the presentation ceremony.
The venue was a long, narrow marquee, which could have led to problems of visibility, but Quiet Storm’s Events team took this into account in planning the layout of the set.
The results of the changes were well received by the organisers and guests at the event.
Jacqui Spittlehouse said: “Over 350 people joined us for this prestigious event, which brings with it many pressures and nail-biting moments. However, we knew that we could rely on Quiet Storm to take a significant amount of pressure off us, by making the audio visual element of the evening fittingly professional and trouble-free!
“We have had some really positive feedback, with people taking the time to write to say how much they enjoyed the evening.
“For us, the organisers, using Quiet Storm was once again a very positive experience. They proved easy to work with and even though a successful structure had been worked out for the previous year they moved it on this year with enhancements that we could accommodate within our budget.”
