Hospice rebrand brings hope for a bright future

Quiet Storm is a proud longstanding supporter of Bright Hope, a registered charity that provides pastoral care to local people with life-limiting conditions.

The charity, which used to be known as Hospice Hope, was founded in 2002 following the closure of the Sue Ryder Hospice at Staunton Harold, which provided palliative care to adults living in North West Leicestershire. It runs four weekly support cafés in Ashby, Coalville and Whitwick, Ibstock, and Castle Donington, where people and carers can drop in for the afternoon, receive support, relax and meet new people.

And since April 2017, it has offered further respite care at Hope House, in the Leicestershire village of Griffydam, where people can receive emotional support, complementary therapies, activities and a nutritious, hot, home-cooked two-course lunch.

We’ve been partnering the charity since 2010, providing marketing and communications support for several years to help it spread its message, engage its supporters and raise awareness of its fundraising activities. Our support has included designing and producing marketing materials, providing them with our MailBlast email marketing software, volunteering at events, and providing strategic consultancy on a regular, recurring basis. So, when the charity approached us at the end of 2020 to discuss a potential rebrand, we were only too happy to oblige.

A brighter future

Bright Hope’s trustees, staff and leaders had discussed the need to change the organisation’s name for some time. As the charity moves into a new era, it needs a name that more accurately reflects the services it provides and plans to develop in the future. Being known as a hospice also made it more challenging to apply for grant funding.

So, it wanted to rebrand and move into 2021 with a new name, logo and strapline that provide greater clarity and purpose. Its new name is Bright Hope in North West Leicestershire, and its strapline is ‘Strength for today and Bright Hope for tomorrow’. It has also updated its mission statement to include a commitment to support people with life-limiting conditions that don’t necessarily reduce their life expectancy.

We worked with the charity’s trustees to develop its new visual identity and brand guidelines, which will be rolled out in the months ahead. We will also assist in designing, developing, and producing any marketing materials to support the rebrand.

‘In our corner’

Stewart Shepherd, Bright Hope’s Chair, said:

“We’re incredibly grateful for the continuous support we have received from Quiet Storm over the past 11 years. They have become a key partner of Bright Hope and have helped us continually raise awareness of what we do and support our fundraising activities.

"When we were looking to rebrand, we knew who to call for help. The team at Quiet Storm guided us through the process, got us thinking creatively and strategically about our new name, purpose and identity, and developed a striking new visual identity which reflects what we stand for as an organisation.

“As we embark on the exciting next chapter of our journey, it’s reassuring to know that Quiet Storm will be in our corner, supporting our aims and helping us to get our message out to keep our supporters and services users up to date.”
