A central source of information for NHS CCG

Coventry and Warwickshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is responsible for planning, organising and buying NHS-funded healthcare for more than one million people across the Coventry and Warwickshire area.

It’s a membership organisation representing 123 GP practices across its region. Some of the areas of healthcare it commissions include primary care, acute or hospital and mental health services, along with community health, medication and continuing health care.

It has a governing body that’s answerable to its member practices and is led by elected local GPs, other clinicians and lay members supported by senior healthcare managers.

The CCG is passionate about working with its health and social care partners to ensure that services are integrated, seamless, and offer a high-quality patient experience.

Quiet Storm has worked with the CCG on several projects over the years, and we were recently tasked with creating an online repository to help its communications team – which is spread over several locations across the region – to collaborate and share vital documents and information more efficiently with the rest of the organisation.

A bespoke solution

The portal we developed is fully optimised for both desktop and mobile use and provides a central store for policies and other documents for each work area of the organisation.

Users can be assigned to the work areas they need access to, and each work area includes a forum section so teams can interact, ask questions and leave comments. All users get automatic weekly and real-time email notifications when new documents or information are added. The solution is also scalable, so more work areas can be added to it as the organisation’s needs change.

‘Effective communication’

Rose Uwins, Senior Communications & Engagement Manager at Coventry and Warwickshire CCG, said:

“As a large organisation with a team spread across several sites, it’s essential to be able to communicate effectively and share important information quickly and easily.

“Our new online repository gives us a central store for all our important documents, as well as a way to keep colleagues connected and up-to-date with everything that’s going on.

“We’ve worked with Quiet Storm for many years, so they were our first port of call for this project. Their team really understood the brief and what we were looking to achieve and have created a bespoke system which meets our needs. They delivered an excellent solution that enables us to share important information across all our teams, in real-time, and allow colleagues to interact and discuss what’s been shared.”
