Turning complexity into clarity, success in large-scale construction and infrastructure projects depends on having the right people in the right place at the right time. For Clancy, a long-established UK contractor operating across utilities, water, environmental services and civil engineering, managing resources across multiple regions is complex and fast-moving. Working with Quiet Storm, the business transformed an Excel-based dataset into a secure, online platform that functions as a dynamic resource planning tool and visual project tracking system. Originally built as a mapping tool, it provides a live overview of projects across the UK, using postcode data or manual inputs to map locations and reveal geographic spread, workloads and operational hotspots. The platform is fully interactive, allowing users to filter projects by timeframe, category, status and priority, helping teams focus on what matters. Data can be exported into tailored reports that support planning, forecasting and performance tracking, evolving alongside the business. It also enables visibility of project pipelines, capacity and value over time, supporting resource allocation, financial planning and risk management. With added features like contact management and procurement, it has become a central hub, enabling proactive decisions, efficient operations and greater control. It is the central connection between thousands of players, clubs and volunteers, a role both vital and complex to manage. Like many long established sports, crown green bowls has faced challenges. Since its peak popularity in the late twentieth century, the sport has seen decline driven by ageing demographics, competition from digital entertainment, costs maintaining greens and reduced facilities. Yet there are signs of growth, increased participation in some regions, younger players emerging and appetite for modernisation. The challenge lies in administration. Managing member records, clubs, leagues, payments, renewals and communication was manual and complex. Existing systems no longer aligned with ambitions, so a simpler digital platformwas needed. Working with Quiet Storm, the BCGBA began transition to a bespoke CRM, starting with scoping data structures, relationships and integrations. The result is more than a database. It provides a centralised system for members, clubs and organisations, with full data management and interaction tracking, creating scalable foundations. Role based access reflects real structures, with five user roles: national, county, association, club and general, each with tailored access improving usability and security. Modules cover members, clubs, leagues and relationships, creating a connected view of the sport. Self service reduces admin, allowing registration, payments and updates, with integrated payments. This improves accuracy, speed and user experience while reducing workload. Built with GDPR compliance, including consent tracking, anonymisation and data protection safeguards, the platform supports growth, participation and modernisation aligned with development strategies. Data enables insight into trends, growth and planning, supporting better decisions. This digital systemmodernises operations, supports clubs and prepares the sport for future growth and sustainability while preserving tradition and improving accessibility and long term relevance for future generations. Supporting a historic sport in a modern world. The British Crown Green Bowling Association (BCGBA) is the governing body for crown green bowls in the UK, overseeing rules, competitions, membership and development while supporting counties, leagues and clubs. Quiet Storm launched Love Business in 2012 to connect the East Midlands business community. While Gemma Orton’s team now leads the event, our 2024 handover wasn’t a goodbye. We still manage the booking platform and support Love Business News, but our focus has shifted toward technology- led solutions and software development. Exhibiting highlighted the community’s quality through deep discussions on productivity and technology. These meaningful connections with partners, old and new, prove that collaborative environments drive success. Love Business remains vital for our growth, and we will certainly return.
